A full commercial fit-out converting an existing building into a purpose-built children's nursery. The interior was designed around distinct learning zones — including a "Making" area with child-height tables and easels, an "Exploration Zone" with hands-on activity stations, and a cosy reading nook with a built-in tiered window seat, soft furnishings, and a "Once Upon a Time" story corner. Custom joinery runs throughout: bespoke wooden cubbies with individual coat pegs, open-shelf book displays, and storage units all crafted in natural oak and soft muted tones.
The bathrooms were designed specifically for young children, with a long trough-style wash basin at child height, pink terracotta wall tiling, round mirrors, and matte black tapware — practical, hygienic, and warm in character. Instructional hand-washing posters add a playful, educational touch.
Outside, a large covered play area was constructed beneath a timber pergola with polycarbonate roofing, creating a sheltered space usable in all weather. The grounds feature artificial turf, a purpose-built road track with painted lane markings, raised timber garden beds, a sandpit, water-play tables, a climbing structure, a mud kitchen, and chalkboard easels — a fully considered outdoor learning environment built from the ground up.
